These are, in my expert opinion, one of the greatest inventions EVER if you live anywhere that gets icy in winter. They are slip on cleats for your boots or shoes and they keep you from falling and breaking.... well... anything. You can walk safely on ice, you can walk safely on ice while going down a hill, you can even run after the dog and there will be NO slippage. I can personally vouch for all three of those statements. A number of companies make them, the ones I own are called STABILicers lite. I've had them for a couple of years and wear them when ever I go out walking in the parks or where ever it isn't shoveled. These are made from a stretchy rubber and have little metal grippers on the bottom to keep you from sliding all over creation. I'll put up some clearer pictures in a bit to let you see these close up and personal.
